For over twenty prior to his accidental death in Amsterdam, Huebner was passionately engaged in the creation of a distinctive oeuvre of ‘conceptually-based’ work, grounded in a focused and personalized vision of the human experience. The work endures and is as relevant today as when it was created.

Huebner’s extensive oeuvre primarily deals with three-dimensional form. From installations that activated the sense through vibration, sound, temperature, light, touch and or the through the materials themselves - to - small intimate hand-held objects, the physical manifestation of conceptual ideas always reflected Huebner’s distinctive sensibility. The work was consistent and enduring, resonating with a timeless sensibility that transcended popular techniques, materials and/or art trends.

The extensive oeuvre that emerged was, and continues to be, intellectually complex and authentically original. Huebner was a strong, silent Canadian cultural voice that created a body of memorable work reflecting both a personal trajectory as well as responses to his surrounding socio-cultural environment.
